Microsoft Web-graphics move signals IE ambitions

Microsoft is attempting to become more competitive by adding new image formats to IE. Specifically, Microsoft signed up for the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) Working Group, part of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Most other major browsers already support the file formats, so IE has some more catching up to do.

While this is a step in the right direction, Microsoft Internet Explorer still has a ways to go to be competitive with the other top notch browsers
